Terms of Service
Effective 14 September 2026.
This document is not final.
The registered company name, address and grievance officer have not been filled in yet, so this page does not name the entity responsible for your data. It should not be relied on until it does.
Agreement
These terms govern use of Kiptos, provided by Kiptos. By creating a workspace or using the service you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
Accounts and your people
An organisation administrator invites members and sets their roles and permissions. You are responsible for who you grant access to, for keeping credentials secure, and for the accuracy of the employee records you enter. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.
Payroll — what Kiptos is not
Kiptos is not a payroll provider, a tax agent, or an accounting system. Its payroll features produce an internal, reproducible figure calculated from the compensation, attendance, leave and approved overtime already recorded in your workspace, together with any adjustments your administrators enter.
Kiptos does not, and does not claim to:
- calculate or deduct provident fund (PF), ESI, TDS or professional tax;
- file any statutory return or challan, or issue Form 16 or Form 24Q;
- generate a statutory-compliant payslip;
- disburse money, or connect to a bank or accounting system.
Figures produced by Kiptos are an operational input for your payroll processor or accountant. Statutory compliance remains entirely your responsibility, and you should not rely on Kiptos for it.
Attendance and location
Where attendance location is used, the coordinate is reported by the employee's device and is not verified by us. Kiptos performs no identity check, no biometric verification and no geofence enforcement. Do not treat a recorded location as proof of an employee's presence, and do not use it as the sole basis for a disciplinary or payroll decision.
You are responsible for telling your employees what you collect and for having a lawful basis to collect it.
Acceptable use
Do not use Kiptos to break the law, infringe someone's rights, upload malware, attempt to access another organisation's data, probe or overload the infrastructure, or resell the service without our agreement.
Your data
Your content remains yours. You grant us only the licence needed to host and operate the service for you. Administrators can export employee, attendance, timesheet, task and activity data as CSV at any time. Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
Fees
Paid plans are charged per employee, per month, at the rates published on our pricing page. Billing is arranged directly with you; creating a workspace does not by itself create a payment obligation. We will tell you in advance of any price change.
Availability, warranties and liability
We work to keep Kiptos available and correct, but we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we offer no uptime guarantee unless one is agreed in writing. The service is otherwise provided as is.
To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits or revenue, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Termination
You may stop using Kiptos and close your workspace at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for a material breach of these terms, or for non-payment, having given you notice and a reasonable chance to fix it where the circumstances allow. Export your data before closing an account — see the Privacy Policy for what happens to it afterwards.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
